Seitel Lighting Client Testimonials

Seitel Lighting vintage light bulbs over dining tables for a wedding in a gallery at MASSMoCA in North Adams, MassachusettsJulie,

As I sit here watching Jaryd cook the last of what we took home of our veggie wedding center pieces, I find myself thinking of the wedding and all of you. I feel so proud of how the wedding turned out and a big part of that is because of you. We got so many compliments on the Edison bulbs. I know they were the right choice. 🙂 The whole room was just so magical. It was perfect.

Thank you also for all the behind the scenes stuff – lighting the dance floor and the ceremony too. I never knew how integral lighting is to the finished product of a beautiful venue. You were so patient with us and did your work so thoughtfully. I never thought of lighting as an art form but ever since the afternoon we spent at your studio, I absolutely do! I could go on and on, but I think – and hope – you get the point! I am so glad we worked together. Thank you for everything.

Seitel Lighting design for sailcloth wedding tent in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Photo by Carrie Ann Photography. The Berkshires are fortunate to have a resource like Julie. Professional, super- organized, and a pleasure to work with. Visit her office and you will see everything in its place. Work with her and you’ll experience a positive personality who will work to ensure your occasion is flawless.

I admit I was a lighting skeptic, unsure of what the true value addition would be to my daughter’s tent wedding. As we just received the wedding day pictures I’m reminded how impactful it is. The band platform, the electrical details, the change in lighting scheme as the evening progressed – all perfect. No-brainer. Hire her. She has no equal.

Stacy and Alex's first dance at their Gedney Farm wedding. Lighting design by Seitel Lighting. Photo by Eric Limon. We can’t recommend Julie enough! Our wedding was at Gedney Farm and lighting was extremely important to us. After several initial conversations with Julie explaining the warm, soft and elegant feel in the barn that we were going for, we were confident that she would execute what we wanted. Our lighting design with Julie was quite iterative, as when we got closer to the time of the wedding and saw our design coming together, we had additional ideas for lighting, and Julie was there by our side throughout this. She installed a one-of-a-kind wooden candle chandelier over the dance floor and created a unique centerpiece over our bridal farm table with vintage Edison reproduction light bulbs that hung in a line and gave off a warm glow. We received so many compliments on our lighting, and we owe this all to Julie. Julie was at the venue days ahead of our wedding doing the installations herself. She has an incredible talent, is great to work with, and made a meaningful impact on the overall aesthetic of the venue in ways we could not have imagined. We highly recommend Julie!

Lillian & Adam's Family dances the Hora at Gedney Farm under bistro lights with paper lanterns by Seitel Lighting. Photo by Roey Yohai.Masterful aesthetics! Julie provided an artistic sensibility that enhanced the setting for socializing, dancing and celebrating. Julie is excellent at communicating with the wedding couple and their families throughout preparations and the entire wedding day. Julie was very conscientious to identify and map out key electrical infrastructure that made for flawless lighting both in the barn and around the property where guests mingled. Julie’s lighting accentuated the beautiful space and created a special inviting aura. Julie was able to work at a new venue (Gedney Farm) and bring her technical and design expertise to the max! We loved working with Julie – she has become a part of our wedding family.

Dancing under a bold bright sailcloth wedding tent lighting design by Seitel Lighting at The Mount in Lenox, Massachusetts. You may not think you need a lighting designer, but you most certainly do! You may not think you can afford a lighting designer, but Julie will work with you to determine your needs and create an installation that fits within your budget. Julie lit the tent where we held our wedding reception, and was one of our favorite people to work with as we planned our Berkshires wedding over the course of eight months. She was incredibly professional and diligent from planning through execution. She clearly knows her craft inside out and puts in the time to make sure everything goes smoothly. We were so impressed when Julie offered to help with absolutely any electrical issues that might have come up during the course of the party, lighting-related or not. Knowing that we could rely on her to troubleshoot any problems was such a huge relief and made us all feel much calmer in the days leading up to the big event. Julie was omnipresent before and during the party to make sure everything on lighting and electrical fronts went perfectly. As the sun began to set, the impact of the lighting set in and the tent became a magical place. The colorful lighting created such a warm, elegant, and beautiful atmosphere. We received so many compliments from our guests on the lighting and how it transformed the space in such an amazing way. We are so thankful to Julie for helping to make our day so awesome–her talent and work ethic exceeded our expectations. It was such a pleasure to work with Julie and we highly recommend her lighting design services to anyone looking to make their event unique and unforgettable.

Elisabeth & Peter's wedding ceremony at Stonover Farm with lighting by Seitel LightingJulie Seitel is a dream to work with, and the best use of our resources for our wedding.  She took an already stunning venue and made it absolutely glow and sparkle in the classiest, most tasteful way.  She was friendly, comforting, responsive and understanding from our very first meeting, and worked diligently with us all year to realize our vision, work within our budget, and adapt to our needs.  While we had high expectations going in as she had been so glowingly recommended to us, she absolutely exceeded everything we could have hoped for.  She took a Plan B due to inclement weather and lit it, at a moment’s notice, so perfectly that we are so glad it rained so we were able to have our ceremony lit the way she did! She is the hardest worker we have ever met, and practically sleeps at the venue in the days leading up to the affair, tweaking and perfecting the plan.  Throughout our reception, Julie was on hand, responding to all needs, not just lighting, and seamlessly adjusting the mood so that our guests were carried along with the rhythm of the evening but never jarred from one portion to another.  They may not have known she was there, but her work was the quietest and loudest presence at the wedding.  Were we to do it all over again, we would not change a thing that occurred in our working with her.

Jim & Christine at their wedding reception in Stonover Farm's barn. Lighting design and custom candle chandelier by Julie Seitel. Photo by Robert Norman Photography.Where do we even begin? Julie designed the lighting for our wedding back in September and we never ever had anything to worry about. She was easy to reach and a quick responder to emails. She was willing to meet with us in NYC, where she has an office, to review concepts and show us ideas. She worked directly with our florist and caterer in the planning stages as well as on the day of execution. She was the very first person to arrive to set up and the very last to leave. Besides Julie’s great dedication and work ethic, she is a top notch designer. She knows what she is doing and she does it to perfection! We truly believe that our wedding was as beautiful as it was because of the lighting. Julie transformed the space from an old lofty barn to something magical and unique. She designed and built us a custom chandelier, she beautifully strung all of the bistro lights (herself), and she controlled the dimmers and dance lights throughout the wedding. She was just amazing! We along with our families were blown away by her talent and work ethic. We would recommend Julie for any kind of event whatsoever. She is the best and we can never thank her enough for the work she did on our wedding!
